You’ve heard about ESPN and Bleacher Report doing All-NBA teams, but what about Ethan’s Sports Corner? Read this post and you'll find out my All-NBA team.
First Team
G. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
The Don and Kristaps Porzingis were first and second in everything but blocks in which Max Kleber was second and both had a good season but Doncic was the Superstar. With 28.7 PPG, 9.3 RPG, and 8.7 APG. He was an All Star for Team Lebron and First Team All NBA. He was arguably the best all around Guard in the NBA with his play.
G. James Harden, Houston Rockets
Either The Beard or Russell Westbrook led the Rockets in scoring, rebounds and assists. Harden led the NBA in scoring last season and was also an All Star for team Lebron and was First Team All NBA. He was also second in minutes per game with 36.7 second to only Damian Lillard’s 36.9.
F. Lebron James, Los Angeles Lakers
The acquisition of Anthony Davis from New Orleans and Danny Green from Toronto gave King James and the Lakers the push they needed to become a better team. James led the NBA in APG with 10.6 and averaged 25.7 PPG with 7.9 RPG. The second best player of all time is and will be in the future a great asset to L.A.
F. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
The Greek Freak and Khris Middleton with the help of Head Coach Mike Budenholzer led Milwaukee to a best in the NBA 53-12 record before Covid hit. He averaged 29.6 PPG and 13.7 RPG and 5.8 APG. I think he should have won MVP but Harden got it.
C. Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers
The Brow and Lebron led the Lakers to a second best in the NBA record of AD also led the Lakers in PPG, RPG, and BPG. Davis was first team All NBA and was picked first for team Lebron. He had a good MVP case but Harden and Giannis were too strong.
Second Team
G. Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers
Dame and Hassan Whiteside both had great seasons, with Whiteside leading the NBA in BPG and in the top 5 in RPG while Dame was third in PPG and first in MPG. Lillard was Second Team All NBA and an All Star for Team Lebron.
G. Russell Westbrook, Houston Rockets
Russ and Harden made a great duo and led the Rockets to a 40-24 record before Covid and Westbrook led all Guards in RPG with 8.0. Westbrook averaged 27.5 PPG, 8.0 RPG, and 7.0 APG.
F. Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers
The claw had a beast of a season when he got traded to L.A. Teaming up with Paul George and Lou Williams, he was an All Star for team Lebron and First team All NBA. He averaged 26.9 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 5.0 APG. He also had 1.8 steals per game.
F. Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors
Spicy P had an amazing season, last year he showed his future by doing everything he can to lock up Toronto’s Championship win against Golden State and had an even better season this year. He and Kyle Lowry led Toronto to a 46-18 record before Covid.
C. Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers
JoJo, Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons led the 76ers to a 39-26 record before Covid and was an Embiid was an All Star for team Giannis and Second Team All NBA. He averaged 23.4 PPG, 11.8 RPG, and 3.1 APG.
Third Team
G. Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks
Ice Trae and John Collins led the Hawks to a 20-47 record before Covid and Trae was second in APG with 9.3 behind Lebron’s 10.6 and Trae averaged 29.6 PPG. He was an All Star for Team Giannis but was not All NBA.
G. Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
Real Deal was second in PPG behind James Harden and led the Wizards in PPG and was second in SPG and first in APG. Beal was Second Team All NBA but was not an All Star. I was deciding between Beal, Devin Booker or Kemba Walker. For Third Team G but Beal’s PPG and RPG gave him the edge.
F.Jimmy Butler, Miami Heat
Buckets had a great season this year, averaging 20.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG and 6.1 APG. He and Bam Adebayo (Who was a HUGE contender for Third Team C) led the Heat to a 41-24 record before Covid and probably would have gone to the Playoffs. Butler was not an All Star but was Third Team All NBA.
F. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
Taco Jay, Kemba Walker and Jalen Brown led the Celtics to a 43-21 record and like Miami, probably would have made the playoffs. Tatum was an All Star reserve for Team Lebron and All NBA Second Team. It was between him and Pascal Siakam for All NBA Second Team but I think Siakam got the slight nod over Tatum.
C. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets
Joker had a big season, leading all Centers with 6.9 APG and was third in PPG behind Embiid and Davis. Jokic and Jamal Murray led the Nuggets to a 43-22 record which was third in the Western Conference. It was between Jokic, Bam Adebayo and Domantas Sabonis for the Third Team C spot but although Adebayo and Sabonis are great players, Jokic is just better than both of them.
